It is my understanding the research enjoys widespread pork industry support and is important to ensure the continued world leadership of the U.S. pork industry into the next century. As the gentleman from Iowa stated, the Agriculture Research Service has stated the unique nature of the research. It is essential that we address the problems facing the U.S. hog industry. I look forward to working with the gentleman.
