I do want to bring to their attention, however, a project I believe is very worthy of funding. It is a multi-purpose in Shiprock, New Mexico, which is on the Navajo Indian Reservation. The center would primarily be for Navajo youth. I know the Senator from Maryland is well aware that juvenile crime, drug abuse, alcohol abuse and unemployment are very serious problems on the Navajo reservation. There is a desperate need to get these problems under control and give youth a meaningful alternative. This multi-purpose Center will do exactly that.
