In December 2010 U.S. Senators Tom Udall, Tom Harkin, and Jeff Bingaman requested an independent study from the National Academy of Sciences on whether chimpanzees are necessary as invasive research subjects.
Senators sought an independent study on the necessity of chimpanzees in research.

I would ask that in addition to supported Federal agency action that you also support S. 2283, which would allow tribal government to directly request a Presidential disaster declaration.
