I do think my strong impression is there have been many of the positive benefits the Senator cited that we have realized in Santa Fe and other communities in my State where there has been an increase in the minimum wage. One other I would mention is that the number of families in need of temporary assistance has declined significantly since we moved to a higher minimum wage in Santa Fe, and that has been another benefit to the community.

The President, in my view, could not have chosen a better nominee for the position than Mike.
I would certainly like to thank Senator Bingaman, who just retired just very recently, for the strong support that he has shown me over the years, and including support for this nomination.
I think all of us, if we were choosing a Secretary of Energy, would want to choose somebody with those attributes.
He knows the crucial role that Congress plays in setting policy and in overseeing how that policy is carried out.
