I would just simply suggest to my colleagues that it is more appropriate and more consistent with the policy of this country to give awards for major military conflicts such as what we have been engaged in in Iraq than it is to give a Global War on Terrorism award to everything that happens from 9/11 forward. The reality is, the people who are serving in Iraq deserve to be recognized for that. That is all we are trying to do with this amendment. I urge my colleagues to support the amendment.
