Yes, and the chairman's support for this provision was critical to its passage. I'd also like to thank the Chairman and Ranking Member for increasing funding for Advanced Placement programs in this mark to $42 million. As the Chairman knows, the House FY 08 Labor HHS Education Appropriations bill increases funding for AP to $50 million. I ask the Chairman if he thinks it's a good idea to increase AP to at least $50 million in the final bill that emerges from Conference, and use this additional increase to fund the provisions in America Competes.
