We need to sustain a commitment to all components of the National Fire Plan over a long enough period of time to make a difference, at least 15 years based on recommendations from the Forest Service and the Department of the Interior. Your amendment ensures that Congress is doing its part with respect to fire prevention without adversely affecting other important programs funded under Function 300. I thank the Senator for the clarification.
