I noticed that in the President's budget proposal that he does propose the replacement of sequestration. He also suggests that there still would be $150 billion in cuts in defense, not the $550 billion or so that we have otherwise.

There is discussion of a proposal that would reduce Medicaid spending by about 18 percent under the next 10 years from $4.1 trillion projected down--well, the cut is $756 billion.

Maybe the committee could ask the witnesses to evaluate this idea of women in our Armed Forces being given some special institutional role to help the Afghan women.
