Chris Christie: “This is a proxy war between the authoritarian dictatorships of this country and the free world.”

“I’m going to make sure that in no way do I enable Donald Trump to ever be president of the United States again.”

“Am I looking at it? Look, anybody who comes up here — anybody who comes up here — and has ever run for president and not won and told you they’re not looking at it again is lying,”

This is an embarrassing episode for the Department of Justice [that] further undercuts the public confidence in our system of justice.

This is not a message of unity in the face of what could have been a national tragedy.
