Kelly Ayotte: “I want to commend both of you just for the way you have conducted the process thus far.”

After months of legislative procedure and weeks of waiting for the bill to hit her desk, Ayotte on Thursday signed House Bill 1433.

Agriculture is an important part of our state’s economy and heritage, and I appreciate the bill’s intent to provide additional meat processing access for small farmers and producers.

I said from day one we wouldn’t let beautiful areas of our state become a dumping ground for out-of-state trash.

This bill is nearly identical to the Senate bill I vetoed last month, as well as two other bills I have vetoed. These bills are overly broad, poorly drafted, and create the potential for substantial litigation.
