This bill is nearly identical to the Senate bill I vetoed last month, as well as two other bills I have vetoed. These bills are overly broad, poorly drafted, and create the potential for substantial litigation.

We need more childcare, so we’re going to have to [continue] to think creatively to make sure that whatever we’re doing that is working, that we do more of it.

While the SYSC is operating within the law, there are unacceptable systemic issues that must be addressed.
