Both sides recognize that we need to get something done, and I sincerely hope my Republican colleagues don’t stand in the way.
I am also concerned about what protections are in place to ensure that third-country nationals removed to Equatorial Guinea are themselves not vulnerable to human trafficking, smuggling or human rights abuses.
It’s good progress, but it’s not what we need in order to open things back up again.
