Mr. Speaker, today I rise to remember a wonderful man, former mayor of Concord, New Hampshire, Martin Gross. Marty was a pillar of the Granite State community; and, to me, he was a beloved mentor, teacher, and friend. As mayor of Concord, he gave so much to the city I grew up in. We see the effects of his legacy every day, walking down the streets of the historic city he helped restore and bring to life. As a prominent lawyer, he was known among his colleagues for being a mentor to young lawyers who looked up to him and strove to follow in his footsteps as they learned to love the law. As an activist, he inspired generations of Granite Staters to give back to their community, whether through community service, volunteering, or running for office. As a strategist for generations of New Hampshire politicians, he helped make the dream of public service a reality. Let's all join together to remember Martin, a man whose friendship, loyalty, kindheartedness, and dedication to his town, State, and community will never be forgotten. ____________________
