The Affordable Care Act is just the opposite--unaffordable. It's chock-full of new taxes, increased government spending, and provisions that are going to make health care more expensive. CBO found that this new law's insurance mandates will raise premiums on the individual market by an additional $2,100 per person. The Kaiser Family Foundation found that individual premiums have already, because of this, gone up 8 percent for families and 9 percent for individuals. And this law isn't even fully implemented yet. To add insult to injury, there's 159 new boards, offices, and panels--like IPAB--that give unelected bureaucrats the authority to ration health care. It raises taxes by $670 billion on middle class families and employers. At a time when we have Federal deficits and prolonged unemployment, it increases total Federal Government health spending by about $478 billion from 2014 to 2021. I have voted to repeal this 30 times, and I will keep doing it until we get it right.

I am baffled, too, so I appreciate your comments. Mr. Speaker, I just want to sum up here: 2,001 days since the permit for this pipeline was filed and over 22,000 pages of scientific review. This permit has been sitting around longer than…
I want to thank Mr. Coffman for bringing this bill. I think it is extremely important, and it directly affects the Omaha VA in-patient facility, as well as veterans all around the Midwest area. The cost overruns of the Denver, or the…
No, I only have 3 minutes. If I have extra time, I will. Today we are taking what should be an easy vote and, frankly, a bipartisan vote. My legislation, the Exchange Information Disclosure Act, does nothing more than ask the…
We in the House have passed about 430 bills. 89 of them actually gotten out of the Senate. Well over about 100, I guess--maybe even more than 100--actually are like the Keystone pipeline, that would create--immediately create jobs, but yet…
