Kent Conrad is a former United States Senator from North Dakota, serving from 1993 to 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, he was known for his work on fiscal policy and budget issues, particularly as the Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee. Throughout his tenure, Conrad advocated for responsible budgeting and was involved in discussions surrounding Social Security and healthcare reform. He played a significant role in shaping policies that impacted both North Dakota and the nation as a whole.

We are very pleased that the Obama administration intends to ask for BIE funding for UTTC.
I do not believe that it is a wise policy to set a specific date for withdrawal from Iraq. I do believe it makes sense to begin to redeploy our forces sometime this year.
Rather than a tax increase, I think the first place we ought to look . . . is the tax gap. If we could collect this money, we'd virtually eliminate the deficit.
The longer we postpone the solution to this flooding crisis, the more danger North Dakota, Canada, and surrounding areas will face. The Devils Lake outlet project needs to be in full operation as soon as possible.
None of this adds up. I mean, it isn't even close. None of this adds up. And the result is, I think, going to be very, very serious damage to the fiscal strength of our country.
