“It is truly stunning. It is not just the tax cuts that have that same pattern. Fixing the alternative minimum tax, which was the original millionaire's tax, is rapidly becoming a middle-class tax increase that has that same pattern. In addition, they are hiding the cost of the war. The war, they say, has no additional cost. The war in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, and the war on terrorism has no additional cost past September 30. Who believes that? We know right now they are preparing a request for additional funding, a vote to be held after the election in which they are going to ask for another $50 billion.”
