“I say to my colleague and my friend, I was proud to support that bill. I was proud of the leadership shown by the Senator from New Mexico on that legislation. I am proud of the leadership shown by the Senators from New Mexico on this bill. I just think, at the end of the day, we are going to have even stronger legislation before we complete our work this year. That was the point I was making in my earlier remarks. Look, we all know the genius of this body is that there are those who agree and those who disagree; those who favor, those who oppose. Tonight we can celebrate together. We are making progress. That is important for the country, but more needs to be done. I don't think any Senator would leave here tonight saying this legislation alone is all we can do. We can do more this year, and we should. I yield the floor.”
