The NAFTA trade agreement has been awful. Some people walk around here and think it is one of the best things that ever happened to this country. I have no idea why they think that. This is a trade agreement that turned a trade surplus we had with Mexico into a huge deficit and a growing deficit. It took a modest deficit with Canada and doubled it very quickly. It is beyond me how someone can view that as progress. I think, in fact, it has injured this country in many, many ways.
