Byron Dorgan: “Everybody's always worried about rationing: It's going on in this country, every single day to American Indians.”

The fundamental problem found in the Dorgan report in 2010 and the findings now before the House is IHS, LEADERSHIP was failing then as it is failing now.

It is a travesty! Further, it is a problem that will continue to have negative impacts for generations to come.

I just want to say that I am concerned about the court's decision in Carcieri and the impact it may have on those tribes that were recognized after 1934.

The agency promised changes, but the situation has only disintegrated since.
