“I come from a small community of 300 people in southwestern North Dakota, which is where we raise a lot of wheat and livestock. I suppose one can look at those parts of the country where there are not many people who live in the area and say that is not a big population center and it doesn't matter much. But it is where we produce our food, by and large, in this country. When you get on an airplane and fly across the States at night, you look out the window. I am sure as the Senator from Iowa flies across the State of Iowa, just as I fly across North Dakota, he sees these yard lights out there at night. Take a look at them. See these brilliant little lights from the prairie that sparkle up to your airplane window and understand what is there. Underneath that light is a family out there. They have turned the yard light on, on the family farm.”
