I actually came over to have a little discussion with the distinguished chairman of the full committee who has brought this legislation forth, Senator Inhofe. I thank him for the work he has been doing. We had an issue we have been discussing, and I think we have something identified to be helpful. I came to talk about the highway bill, and I will do it to this extent: We need a bill. It is an overdue bill. It is important to our country. It is important to have infrastructure. It is important for job creation. It is important for economic development. And it is important for safety. We ought to do this bill. I just cannot understand why the Senate still heaves away from getting this extremely popular, overdue, and highly necessary piece of legislation passed. I urge my colleagues, if they have good amendments, let's do them. If we can't get it completed this afternoon, let's do it as soon as possible. It is critical for our country. We are speaking on time on the highway bill, but actually other subjects have been introduced. I would like to comment on that.
