Ted Stevens: “I believe NIH is in excellent hands under your capable leadership.”

Starting in the late 1980s, then-U.S. Senator Ted Stevens encouraged the community to actively explore and develop our first hydro facility.

Senator Stevens authored the Alaska Native Education Equity, Support and Assistance Act in response to these disparities.

Sequestration will further impact our ability to maintain deterrence, project power, respond to crises, and contribute to stability.

Thanks to the foresight of Senator Ted Stevens and his congressional colleagues in establishing the North Pacific Research Board in 1997.
