“I am aware of the extreme low water level problem and understand the difficulties that the Great Lakes region is facing as a result. During periods of extremely low water, like those today, lake levels drop below low water datum. These low water levels not only threaten to cripple Great Lakes industries that depend on waterborne transportation, but they also create a serious threat to the safety of the thousands of recreational and commercial boaters on the Lakes.”
