This McCain amendment would reclassify certain Amerasian immigrants as refugees. Thus, they would be entitled to benefits of people similarly situated. The amendment costs about $1 million per year, and those on our side who handle these matters have indicated they are willing to accept it. I understand the minority is willing to accept it.
