“It is the understanding and intent of the committee that the cleanup and restoration of contaminated sites falling within the purview of FUSRAP shall be managed and executed by the nearest Civil Works District of the Corps of Engineers with appropriate assistance from an approved design center for hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste. Local communities throughout the country have been very involved in designing cleanup plans at FUSRAP sites and this strategy effectively maintains community input on the process.”
