We do not see a military solution to the conflict in Amhara, and that we believe that the best way forward would be to start some type of dialog.

We have had discussions and urged the government to lift the State of emergency to allow access to media, to allow access to the internet.

We, as the United States, care about all Ethiopians and certainly will denounce violations of human rights against any individual, irrespective of ethnicity.
