Kirstjen Nielsen: “This is a legitimate National emergency, this is a twin crisis, and we can do better as a country.”

We do face a crisis. We see unacceptable levels of illegal drugs, dangerous gangs, criminal activity, and illegal aliens flowing across our Southern Border.

Our democracy itself is in the crosshairs.

I would ask all parents to go to ports of entry, not to separate their children and send them on the journey alone.

The current practice of the Trump Administration the taking children from their parents is unconscionable and should end immediately.
