This is somebody who not only has the experience, the know-how, but also has lived an immigrant's American dream story. Not only the first Latino to hopefully get to head the Department of Homeland Security but someone who was a political refuge, who understands that we are a nation of immigrants, of refugees, of asylees and wants to approach this with the kind of common sense and compassion instead of cruelty that we've seen from the Trump administration.
