On the recordJanuary 25, 2007
Well, Mr. President, we just passed a sense-of-the-Senate amendment that does nothing to reduce the tax on our senior citizens. Our good friends always say they want to only tax millionaires, but it always ends up the same way, with higher taxes on millions--millions of workers, millions of families, millions of small businesspeople, and now, here again, millions of our senior citizens. If you actually want to reduce the tax, you must vote for the Bunning amendment because that is the only amendment that actually removes the 35-percent increase we put on our senior citizens in 1993. So I urge a ``yes'' vote on the Bunning amendment.
