I would like to encourage you and the administration to support the Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement and let us get that settled and behind us.

We in this committee believe that everybody counts in this country and everybody should be counted.

We need to use science as the guide, and we need to have open, transparent policies working with the stakeholder groups so they understand the objectives.

I intend to integrate the work of the Department of Commerce toward a strategy of knowledge, innovation and sustainable economic growth.
