“today, we invoked cloture on the motion to proceed to the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security bill, and we have had a full day of debate. Tomorrow, we will be on the bill and Members are encouraged to come to the floor and speak. Again, this is a very carefully crafted bipartisan bill. It is very targeted and will move us closer to energy independence. So we hope we can finish the bill at the earliest time. We have other important issues to address before we finish our work prior to the August adjournment. Therefore, the leader hopes that we can continue to work on other measures as we process this important energy security measure. ____________________”
