On the recordJuly 15, 2004
This position paper has been prepared by R-CALF USA, an industry association representing ranchers across the country including Montana. Future trade agreements must seek to eliminate the distortions that undermine the prosperity of U.S. producers. That means the U.S. should negotiate agreements that offer real and substantial opportunities. That also means the U.S. must take a hard-nosed approach in the Doha Round of WTO negotiations. This matter is crucial to the future of rural America. It is worth every ounce of effort we can pour into it, and I--for one--pledge to press this fight.
