“I thank the gentleman. I think it is so important to remember that national defense is not a partisan issue. It is a constitutional duty. Where is the photo op with all the military families that are sacrificing? It is truly shameful, I think, that this occurred. I stand alongside with those who are fighting for the people of this country to keep them safe. Mr. Speaker, I yield to the gentleman from New York (Mr. Gibson), another friend who is a champion of this, who is a decorated Army commander, proudly serves on the Armed Services Committee and does a wonderful job.”
