We are grateful to Congressman Nehls (R-TX), along with Chairmen Sam Graves (R-MO) and Garret Graves (R-LA), for their leadership on this issue.

I urge the Committee to take long overdue action on rail safety so that passengers and communities with rail in their backyards have a level of safety oversight and protection afforded to other modes of transportation.

Again, I urge all Members to support this must-pass bill so we can keep our aviation system operating safely and focus on passing a long-term FAA bill next week. H.R. 8289 provides for a clean extension of FAA authorities. It does not…
