Richard Gephardt: “We need a leader who can defeat George Bush in November.”

Now we find out he thinks there is an upside to the terrorists running the Palestinian Authority. And we thought George W. Bush was unprepared to be president of the United States.

Who is he talking about? Is he saying labor unions or special interests or the senior citizens or the farmers? I don't think so. So I just -- I think these are not accurate comments. I don't understand them.

The polls, I feel for a long time, have simply been indicating that this is a tight race. I have felt it was going to be a tight race as long as six months ago. But I feel in the end I'm going to win this race in Iowa.
