Why, in the last 5 years, have there been almost no new bank charters issued? Why? What is your reasoning for that? Is it regulation? Or is it low interest rates?

The American people, I think you can trust them with their own money. Remember, it is their money by the way.

I appreciate you holding this hearing on a topic that we know is important, but we never seem in this Congress to ever want to discuss, and that is, how do we fix the National Flood Insurance Program?

This all goes back to monetary policy from the standpoint that rules and regulations are strangling our economy so that people can't participate in the economy.
