We have discovered that the Constitution does not prevent us from correcting social injustice, or advancing the general welfare.

It would have involved us in all-out war in the Far East, and we have been strenuously trying to avoid that all the time.

The longer I live, the more I am impressed by the significance of our simple official oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

I feel the Committee has done a thorough job of investigation and I wish to call your attention to these suggestions, some of which, I am sure, would be helpful.
