Without multiple-purpose river basin development, I believe that few of these accomplishments would have been possible.
We built the Bureau of Reclamation's great new Hungry Horse Dam in Montana not as an isolated structure, but as a part of the Columbia Basin system.
The experience of this early period of public action showed that constant vigilance and competent professional guidance are essential to prevent irreparable losses.
They should be strong enough to see that unified multiple-purpose development is planned for, and works operated harmoniously in each basin-wide comprehensive system.
