The median inflated adjusted award in 2001 was just $28,000. And even in medical malpractice cases... it accounts for only 2 percent of the overall medical costs in the United States, which is Herculean; but 2 percent is almost nonexistent. And I think what has happened is that we have created a mountain out of a mole hill.
