On Friday night, I came to the Capitol with my chair. I refuse to accept that Congress could leave for vacation while 11 million people faced eviction. For five days we`ve been out here demanding that our government act to save lives. Today our movement moved mountains.

This cycle, the momentum met me. The community asked me to run. The community came to me and said, ‘Cori, where is our fighter?’
It pisses me off that for the next two years this community will be represented by someone that didn’t deem you valuable enough to show up to one candidate forum where there were audience comments.
As stated by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, a genocide is happening in Gaza, stated by all of those different organizations and more. Yes. Now, funding for other things that they may need - I have no problem with that.
I put myself on the line with that. But history recorded that, and now we can look back and say, maybe if we had those things right now, we wouldn’t be looking at a president who some people voted for because of the price of eggs.
