I believe the bill as it now stands reflects a workable compromise that will move us forward significantly. I believe consumers stand the most to benefit and they will gain from having a much greater assurance that their credit will not be destroyed because of inaccurate or improper information put in their files. And for that they have the Senator from Nevada to thank for his great leadership on this bill. I do not believe, as the Senator said, that there are more amendments to be offered on this bill. I take this opportunity to urge all of my colleagues to vote for the bill, and we will set the time for the vote. I hope the House would be able to accept this bill. We think the time has come to pass reforms to the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

We are interested in getting a handle on this because, as you have indicated, there are so many moving parts in this that we want to try to get a handle on as many as possible.
