I offer this amendment in close cooperation with my colleague, the ranking member, Mr. Miller. This manager's amendment clarifies that eligible entities that have been selected to carry out demonstration projects may submit amendments to their approved applications. It requires the Secretary of Education to collect and disseminate demonstration project best practices to eligible entities carrying out such projects, and it makes technical corrections. Mr. Chairman, this is a very straightforward amendment, and we offer it together to improve this bill. I reserve the balance of my time.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. I thank the witnesses for being with us today. Excellent testimony, as we're trying to solve the problem that some of us have been dealing with for a long time.

I cannot State emphatically enough that far-reaching reform, fiscal responsibility, and bipartisanship must be the principles that guide us as we work to solve this problem.
