I will never forget, and I think the American People and the American press did not really pick up on this, but there was a particular pint in history when there was a lot of fear that the Soviets were going to--when Lech Walesa was leading the Solidarity movement in Poland, there was a lot of belief that the Soviets were going to move in with tanks to reoccupy Poland. There was one particular moment in history where a man of enormous courage literally sent a message to the Soviets that if you come to Poland, I will be there to meet you. That is the kind of courage that it took.
