Mr. Speaker, I move to suspend the rules and pass the bill (H.R. 2465) to amend the Federal Employees' Compensation Act, as amended. The Clerk read the title of the bill. The text of the bill is as follows: H.R. 2465 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Federal Workers' Compensation Modernization and Improvement Act''. SEC. 2. PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS AND ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSES. (a) Definition of Medical Services.--Section 8101(3) of title 5, United States Code, is amended-- (1) by striking ``law. Reimbursable'' and inserting ``law (reimbursable''; and (2) by inserting before the semicolon, the following: ``, and medical services may include treatment by a physician assistant or advanced practice nurse, such as a nurse practitioner, within the scope of their practice as defined by State law, consistent with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Labor)''.…
