Congress needs to send aid and help those suffering immediately, and it should not be controversial. Yet here we are, with Republican leadership refusing to help those in need and wanting to put conditions on lifesaving disaster aid. It is unprecedented and simply cruel to politicize this tragedy. These are the same folks that refuse to put conditions on aid to foreign governments like Israel that are committing genocide right now, but they want to condition lifesaving aid for fellow Americans who are victims of climate disaster.
