I have still yet to hear someone say, it is that new Federal program, or it is this Federal program. The schools that are doing well are typically where a group of parents, administrators, and teachers have taken back their school and said, we are going to focus on these kids, and we are not going to focus on the bureaucracy and the red tape that either comes from Sacramento or comes from Lansing; but we know the kids' names, we know what their needs are. We are going to focus on our kids. We are going to take our schools back.

Hopefully on a number of these issues we reach resolution sooner rather than later, but it's already taken 14 months and we haven't seen significant progress.
You get calls and request to meet with folks and… if they’re people that are working on issues that may have an impact on U.S. relations, there’s a good chance we’ll meet with them, just to get some kind of perspective.
The bridge is obviously going to open," Hoekstra told CBC News and the New York Times at the July 4 party. "We all want it open. There are some things that we're working through and we'll get those resolved I think relatively quickly."
The bridge was not open when it was announced a couple of weeks ago by mutual agreement of the Canadian government and the U.S. government
