We worked hand-in-glove because we recognized the importance of putting that together and recognized the importance of what the 9/11 Commission recommended. This resolution today goes in exactly the wrong direction. The objective of the 9/11 Commission that was identified was to give the authorizing committee greater, if not sole, influence and control over appropriations, authorizations, and oversight. This resolution creates an additional committee between the authorizers and the appropriators that will add confusion.”
