“I wanted to just thank the gentlewoman for her persistence in trying to connect at a Federal level the relationship between gun safety, the shipment of firearms, and the shipment of alcoholic beverages. There is nothing illogical or irrational about it. They are both very related subject matter. The need for using these regulations and looking at them from this perspective of a Federally licensed firearm dealer and wine distributor or alcohol beverage distributor are related. I am glad that the gentlewoman has reformulated her amendment. I think it now attaches to this bill with a great rationality, and it is an amendment on its own that I support very strongly.”
