Mr. Speaker, since this is likely the last piece of legislation the House Judiciary Committee will control time on the floor, I would like to take this moment and opportunity to reflect back on the good and outstanding work of James Sensenbrenner during his tenure as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. It has been my privilege to serve with Chairman Sensenbrenner in my role as ranking member of the Judiciary Committee over these last three Congresses. During that time, the Judiciary Committee has become one of the most active committees in the House, processing the second largest number of bills of any committee. It is rare a week goes by that this committee is not on the floor of the House considering frequently complex and significant legislation that impacts the lives of millions of Americans. There is no question that Mr. Sensenbrenner has led the committee firmly and fairly at all times during his chairmanship, but there are three things that I would like the record to reflect.
