This amendment covers only those people who come through that program with a GED. They will have spent 20 weeks or more with the National Guard in a semimilitary situation, and they go through and get their GED, which is acceptable to colleges and universities but not acceptable for enlistment in the Armed Forces. Having spent their time with the National Guard in its Challenge Program, many of them really want to continue and go into military service and continue their education as a member of the armed services. We believe that opportunity ought to be there for these young people who have made a commitment to change their lives and who have made a commitment that they want to be part of the military system. This, as I said, is something that is very limited in scope and only deals with a few hundred people in the country as a whole. But they are people that the Guard has worked with, and they have worked with the Guard.

I'm Michigan's workhorse. That's what I want to be. My opponent, he's already got his website for president.

That’s called democracy, friend, right? You don’t sign up for a Democratic Party to be salty grapes and just continue to hold a grudge.

You don’t rob your neighbor. This trade war must end so we can get our economy back on track. I will keep pushing to block Donald Trump’s tariff regime and keep fighting to lower costs for Michiganders.
